Three Churches is a small place in Hampshire County, West Virginia. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses without its own local government.
The community is located north of Romney. It sits where Jersey Mountain Road (Route 5) meets Three Churches Hollow Road (Route 5/4).
This area was first known as Jersey Mountain. It got its new name, Three Churches, because of three old white wooden churches there. These churches were Mount Bethel Church, Mount Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, and Branch Mountain United Methodist Church. The Three Churches Post Office is no longer open.
