Tiago Rodrigues de Leifert (born on May 22, 1980) is a well-known Brazilian journalist and television presenter. He has hosted many popular shows, especially on the Rede Globo network.

About Tiago Leifert
Tiago Leifert was born in São Paulo, Brazil. His father, Gilberto Leifert, worked as a director for the Rede Globo TV network. Tiago has both Jewish and Portuguese family roots.
Tiago Leifert's Career Journey
Tiago Leifert started his career as a reporter. His first job was on a show called "Desafio ao Galo," which was all about amateur soccer.
Early Days in Journalism
Tiago studied Journalism and Psychology at the University of Miami. He also trained as a journalist at the American TV network NBC. In 2004, he began working at TV Vanguarda, a local TV station connected to TV Globo. There, he was an editor and presenter for "Vanguarda Mix," a fun show for young people.
Joining Rede Globo
In 2006, Tiago joined Rede Globo, a very big TV network in Brazil. He presented a show called "Pro Rad" and made reports about video games for "Esporte Espetacular." He also covered big sports events like the Brazilian football season in 2008, the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Hosting Globo Esporte SP
In January 2009, Tiago became the main editor and presenter of "Globo Esporte SP." He changed the show to be more natural and spontaneous. He often used funny phrases and segments, which made the show very popular. He even honored a football player named Val Baiano with a live funk song!
Moving to Entertainment Shows
Tiago's talent was noticed by director Boninho. Because of this, Tiago started hosting The Voice Brasil on Globo in 2012, right from its very first season.
Video Games and Other Shows
From FIFA 13 to FIFA 20, Tiago was the main commentator for the Brazilian version of the FIFA video game series. He worked alongside Caio Ribeiro.
In July 2015, Tiago left "Globo Esporte SP" to work more on entertainment shows. He filled in as a host for "Encontro com Fátima Bernardes" when the main presenter was on vacation. In August 2015, he became one of the hosts of a new show called "É de Casa," which aired on Saturday mornings.
Hosting The Voice Kids and Big Brother Brasil
Between January and March 2016, Tiago hosted the first season of "The Voice Kids." This was a version of the reality show for children and teenagers aged nine to fifteen.
On August 27, 2016, it was announced that Tiago would leave "É de Casa." He was chosen to become the new host of "Big Brother Brasil" starting with its 17th season, taking over from Pedro Bial. He also started presenting a show called "Zero1" in 2016. This show focused on video games, geek culture, and the pop universe. In 2017, he officially started hosting "Big Brother Brazil."
In 2021, after working at Globo for 16 years, Tiago Leifert decided to leave the network.
Awards and Recognitions
Tiago Leifert has won several awards for his work as a journalist and presenter:
- In 2009, he won the "Revelation" award from the Association of Sportswriters in São Paulo (ACEESP).
- He won the "Best of Broadcast Television Presenter" award from the São Paulo Association of Art Critics in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
- In 2010, he received the "Communicate Award Sports Journalist / Electronic Media."
- In 2011, Tiago won "Best of the Year / Journalist" on Rede Globo's "Domingão do Faustão." He was competing against famous journalists like Fátima Bernardes and William Bonner.
