Tichina Rolanda Arnold (born June 28, 1969) is an American actress. She started acting when she was a child. She had roles in movies like Little Shop of Horrors (1986) and How I Got into College (1989).
Later, she became well-known for playing Pamela "Pam" James on the TV show Martin from 1992 to 1997. She also played Rochelle, the mom, on the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris from 2005 to 2009. She will play Rochelle again in the animated show Everybody Still Hates Chris (2024-).
Tichina also starred as Judi Mann in Happily Divorced (2011–2013) and Cassie Calloway in Survivor's Remorse (2014–2017). Since 2018, she has been playing Tina Butler in the CBS show The Neighborhood.

Early Life and Education
Tichina Arnold was born in Queens, New York City. Her family worked hard; her mother was a sanitation worker, and her father was a police officer. She grew up in the Church of God in Christ. She went to the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, which is a famous school for arts.
Acting Career Highlights
Starting in Film and Television
In 1986, Tichina Arnold appeared in the musical film Little Shop of Horrors. She was one of three singers, Crystal, who performed R&B songs. She was only 16 years old when she filmed this movie. Her career continued to grow steadily after that.
She had roles in movies like How I Got into College and Scenes from a Mall (1991). In 1987, she got her first big TV role on the soap opera Ryan's Hope. She played Zena Brown and was even nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1988. She stayed on the show until it ended in 1989.
Later that year, Tichina joined the TV show All My Children as Sharla Valentine. She was on that show until 1991.
Famous TV Roles
Tichina Arnold's most famous TV role was Pamela James on Martin Lawrence's sitcom Martin. She played this role from 1992 to 1997. She also had a recurring role as Nicole Barnes on the show One on One.
In 2000, she worked with Martin Lawrence again in the movie Big Momma's House. In 2007, she played his character's wife in the movie Wild Hogs.
From 2005 to 2009, Tichina played Rochelle, the main mom, on the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. This show was very popular. In 2008, she took on a serious role, playing Lena Baker in The Lena Baker Story. Lena Baker was the only woman executed by electric chair in Georgia.
Stage and Recent Work
In 2009, Tichina Arnold performed on stage in The Wiz revival in New York City. She played Evillene, the Wicked Witch of the West. She also guest-starred in the Disney XD show Pair of Kings in 2010.
Tichina played the best friend of Fran Drescher in the TV Land sitcom Happily Divorced. This show was based on Fran Drescher's real-life story.
Personal Life
In 1998, Tichina Arnold started her own company called "China Moon Rags." She designed headbands decorated with Swarovski crystals. Many famous people, like Janet Jackson and Christina Aguilera, wore her designs. She stopped making them after her daughter was born.
Tichina has a daughter named Alijah Kai Haggins, born on March 16, 2004, with music producer Carvin Haggins.
On August 18, 2012, Tichina married DaRico Hines, a basketball coach, in Hawaii. They later divorced in July 2022.
Helping Others
In 2013, Tichina and her sister started the We Win Foundation. This foundation helps people who have lupus, a health condition. Tichina's sister, Zenay, has lupus.
