How Tierra Oscura Was Created
Tierra Oscura became an official corregimiento on March 7, 1997. This happened because of a special rule called Law 10. Later, two more laws, Law 5 (from January 19, 1998) and Law 69 (from October 28, 1998), helped to make its status even clearer. Back in the year 2000, the population of Tierra Oscura was 1,950 people.
