Her 1987 cover of the Tommy James and the Shondells song "I Think We're Alone Now" was a huge hit. It spent two weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This song was the second single from her first album, Tiffany.
Her songs "Could've Been" and "I Saw Him Standing There" were also released. "Could've Been" also reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Tiffany became very popular thanks to her "mall tour." She sang in shopping malls across the country. Both her songs and album reached number one on the Billboard charts.
Tiffany's second album, Hold an Old Friend's Hand, came out in 1988. It had a song that reached the Top 10. This album sold over a million copies, but it was not as successful as her first one.
