Early Life and First Steps in Music (1992–2006)
Tiffany Evans was born in the Bronx, a part of New York City. She got her first big chance to perform at age 9 on a show called Showtime at the Apollo.
In February 2003, Tiffany won the Grand Champion title in the junior singer group on Star Search. She made history by being the only performer ever to get perfect scores in all her appearances. In the competition, she sang against other talented young artists like Lisa Tucker, David Archuleta, and Tori Kelly. These singers later became famous on American Idol.
Besides singing, Tiffany also acted. She was in an episode of Law & Order: SVU. She played the daughter of a character played by actor Blair Underwood. At just 10 years old, she sang for important people at Columbia Records and was offered a music contract. She also had a small role on the TV show The District. In 2005, Tiffany appeared in her first movie, Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Black Woman. She also sang on the movie's soundtrack.
After signing with Columbia Records, Tiffany released her first song, "Let Me Be Your Angel", in 2004. It was a cover of an older song by Stacy Lattisaw. The song did well on the R&B music charts. Soon after, she released her first album, Tiffany Evans (EP). It had eight cover songs and a bonus DVD. She also released a digital Christmas song and sang "The Star-Spangled Banner". She then started working on new music, releasing digital songs like "Thinkin' About" in 2005 and "Who I Am" in 2006.
