Tim's Cascade Snacks facts for kids
Tim's Cascade Snacks is a company that makes tasty potato chips and popcorn. It is part of a bigger company called Utz Brands. Some of their popular snacks include Tim's Cascade Style Potato Chips, Hawaiian Brand Kettle Chips, and Erin's Gourmet Popcorn.
History of Tim's Snacks
The company was started in 1986 by a person named Tim Kennedy. Their factories, where they make all the snacks, are located in the state of Washington in the United States.
When Tim Kennedy first started, he cooked the chips using only peanut oil. Later, after the company was bought by Pinnacle Foods, they began to use other oils like corn oil and sunflower oil instead. In 2019, another company called Utz Brands bought Tim's Cascade Snacks.
What Snacks They Make
Tim's potato chips are easy to spot because they come in bags with red and white stripes. For a long time, until 2019, these chips were cooked in a special way called "kettle-cooked" in small groups.
Tim's snacks are most popular in the Pacific Northwest part of the United States. However, you can also find them in other parts of the U.S. and even in some countries in Asia.
Some fans of Tim's chips still miss a flavor called "Cajun." This flavor was not as spicy as the Jalapeño chips and didn't have the smoky taste of the Alder Smoke Barbecue flavor. Sometimes, the company brings back the Cajun flavor for a short time in certain areas.
