Tim Battersby, born on March 16, 1949, is a talented British musician. He writes and performs music especially for children. His songs are enjoyed by kids and families all over!

About Tim Battersby

Tim Battersby grew up in Fleet, Hampshire, England. He went to a school called Lancing College. His father, E.W. Battersby, was a diplomat, which means he worked for the British government in other countries.

In 1977, Tim wrote music for a film called The Last Chance. This film was shown at the National Zoo in Washington D.C.. The National Zoo is a famous place where many animals live. The film was made by the Smithsonian Institution, a big group of museums and research centers.

Tim is also part of a music group called The Battersby Duo. With this group, he has won many awards. They received three Parents' Choice Awards, which are special honors for great children's products. They also won an American Cable Emmy, which is a big TV award!

The Battersby Duo has performed in some very famous places. They played music at The White House six times! That's where the President of the United States lives. They also performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a well-known place for shows. Other places they performed include Wolf Trap, the Savannah Music Festival, and the Piccolo Spoleto Festival. They even appeared on the TV show The Today Show.

On December 1, 2010, The Battersby Duo was nominated for a Grammy Award for their children's CD called Sunny Days. This is a huge honor in the music world!
