The Timothy and Jane Williams House is a special old house located at 34 Old County Road in Rockland, Maine. It was built around 1859. This house is a great example of a building style called Italianate architecture. It was built for Timothy Williams, who was important in the lime industry in the 1800s. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. This means it is a historically important building in the United States.

What Does the Williams House Look Like?
The Williams House is in a quiet, mostly residential area in western Rockland. It stands on the northwest side of Old County Road. This road used to be a main path between Thomaston and Camden. Now, it helps people avoid the busy downtown Rockland area. The house is across from one of the many old lime quarries in the Rockland area.
House Design and Features
The house is a large, two-and-a-half-story building made of wood. It has a pointed roof and is covered with horizontal wooden boards called clapboards. A smaller, two-story section extends from the left side of the house. It also has a pointed roof.
The corners of the building have decorative blocks that look like stone, called quoins. The main roof edges have heavy, fancy brackets and a line of small, tooth-like blocks called dentil molding. These details are common in Italianate style homes.
A two-story section sticks out from the middle of the front of the house. This is where the main entrance is. The front door is set back a little. It has tall, narrow windows on each side and a curved window above it. The design around the door matches the two round-arch windows above it. These windows have a curved top that looks like a segmented arch, also with brackets. All the other windows are rectangular and have decorative tops with brackets.
