Tina Louise Bomberry (born around 1966, died February 10, 2018) was a talented actress from Canada who was part of the Indigenous peoples. She acted in movies, TV shows, and on stage. Many people knew her best for playing Rosie Deela in the TV series North of 60 and its three follow-up TV movies.

Tina Bomberry's Acting Journey

Tina was a member of the Mohawk Nation. She studied acting at the Native Theatre School in Toronto in 1986 and later at Ryerson University in 1988.

Her first acting role was a small part in the 1989 TV movie Where the Spirit Lives. She also appeared in the 1993 movie Medicine River. From 1992 to 1997, she played her most famous character, Rosie Deela, in the TV show North of 60. She continued playing Rosie in three TV movies that followed the series: In the Blue Ground (1999), Another Country (2003), and Distant Drumming (2005).

In 1995, Tina was nominated for a Gemini Award for her great acting as Rosie. This award is one of the top honors for TV in Canada. She also performed with the De-ba-jeh-mu-jig Theatre Group.

About Tina's Life

In June 2015, Tina was in a car accident. She was hurt but thankfully recovered after being cared for at a hospital in Hamilton.

Tina Bomberry passed away on February 10, 2018, when she was 52 years old. She died at her home on the Six Nations reserve in Ohsweken.
