Tirrannaville is a small area, or locality, in New South Wales, Australia. It's part of the Goulburn Mulwaree Council region. You can find it about 11 kilometers south of the city of Goulburn, along the road that leads to Braidwood.
This area was once known as Terranna. That name is still used for the parish (a type of land division) that covers most of Tirrannaville. The northern part of the locality, where a small group of homes and a cemetery are located, is in the Goulburn parish. In 2016, about 237 people lived here. The land in Tirrannaville is mostly used for grazing animals like sheep or cattle.
Tirrannaville has a history connected to the railway. Trains used to be a big part of how people and goods moved around.
Komungla Railway Station
A train station was built in 1884 at a place called Komungla. This area is now part of Tirrannaville. The station was first named Bangalore. A small community grew around it. In 1916, its name was changed to Komungla. This station was an important stop on the Bombala railway line. However, it closed down in 1971.
Tirranna Railway Siding
Another smaller stop for trains, called a siding, was set up in 1906. It was named Tirranna. Sidings are usually shorter tracks next to the main line where trains can wait or load/unload goods. This Tirranna siding was used for a while but closed in 1941.
