Becoming a Postseason Hero
In Game 4 of the 1983 American League Championship Series, Tito hit a game-winning home run. This helped the Orioles win the series! He was such an unexpected star that his teammate, John Lowenstein, even joked he wasn't sure of Tito's first name.
Tito also played very well in the postseason for the St. Louis Cardinals. This happened in the 1985 National League Championship Series and the 1985 World Series. He filled in for an injured player, Vince Coleman. Tito hit really well, with a batting average over .300 in those important games. He even hit a home run in Game 4 of the World Series.
