Humberto "Tito" Nieves (born June 4, 1958) is a famous Puerto Rican musician. People also call him "El Pavarotti de la Salsa." He became one of the top salsa singers in the 1980s and early 1990s.

Humberto "Tito" Nieves was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. He grew up in the United States.
Tito Nieves' Music Career
Tito Nieves started his music journey in a group called Orquesta Cimarron. This band was based in New York. In 1977, he worked with the famous singer Héctor Lavoe and his Orchestra. He also joined a group called Conjunto Clasico.
Becoming a Solo Artist
Tito Nieves began his solo career in 1986. He became special because he sang salsa songs in English. Some of his most famous songs include "El Amor Más Bonito" and "Sonámbulo." His English-salsa hit, "I Like It Like That" (from 1996), was very popular.
He also had hits like "Fabricando Fantasias" from his album of the same name. He worked with other artists like La India, Nicky Jam, and K-Mil on songs.
Working with Sergio George
A big part of Tito Nieves' music success came from working with Sergio George. Sergio was the main producer and music director for many of his albums. They worked together for many years, helping to create his unique sound.
Later Projects and Tributes
In 2007, Tito Nieves released an album called Canciones Clasicas De Marco Antonio Solís. This album was a tribute to the Mexican singer Marco Antonio Solís. Later, in 2021, Tito Nieves was featured on Norberto Vélez's YouTube channel. He sang on a show called "Sesiones Desde La Loma Ep. 19."
Tito Nieves' Family Life
Tito Nieves was married to Wanda Vazquez. They had a son named Ommy Nieves. Sadly, Ommy passed away at age 24. Tito dedicated his song "Fabricando Fantasias" to his son.
Later, Tito married Irma Nieves, and they had a son named Humberto Nieves, Jr. On January 28, 2017, Tito married Janette Figueroa in Puerto Rico.
