Marco Antonio Solís Sosa (born December 29, 1959) is a famous Mexican musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He grew up in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Mexico. Marco started his music journey at just six years old.
He first performed with his cousin Joel Solís as "Los Hermanitos Solís." In 1975, he helped create the band Los Bukis. He was their lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist. After almost 20 years of huge success, the band broke up. Marco then started his solo career. His first solo album, En Pleno Vuelo, came out in 1996.
Marco Antonio Solís has won many important awards. These include five Latin Grammy Awards and two Lo Nuestro Awards. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2022, he was named "Person of the Year" by the Latin Recording Academy.

Marco's Musical Journey
Marco Antonio Solís began singing at age six with his cousin, Joel Solís. They called themselves "Los Hermanitos Solís." In the mid-1970s, he formed the band "Los Bukis." They became very popular in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the United States.
As the lead singer and main songwriter for Los Bukis, Marco also wrote and produced songs for other famous singers. These included Marisela and Rocío Dúrcal. In 1995, after nearly two decades with the group, he decided to start his own solo career.
As a solo artist, Marco has remained very popular. His songs have topped the charts in Mexico, Latin America, Spain, and the United States. He has worked with many other stars like Olga Tañón, Enrique Iglesias, and Marc Anthony.
On August 5, 2010, Marco Antonio Solís received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also appeared as a vocal coach on the TV show La Voz... México (The Voice... Mexico) and his team won! His album, "Gracias Por Estar Aquí," was released in 2013. It quickly became number one on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart.
In 2017, Marco lent his voice to a character in a Disney-Pixar movie. He was the Spanish voice of Ernesto de la Cruz in the film Coco. In 2021, his song "Se Veía Venir" reached number one on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart. This was his first time back on that chart in over twenty years.
