Marco Antonio Solís Sosa (born on December 29, 1959) is a famous Mexican musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He grew up in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Mexico.
Marco Antonio Solís started his music journey when he was just six years old. He performed with his cousin Joel Solís in a group called Los Hermanitos Solís. Later, in 1975, he helped create the band Los Bukis. He was the lead singer, wrote many of their songs, and played the guitar.
Los Bukis became very successful for almost 20 years. After that, the band decided to go their separate ways. Marco Antonio Solís then started his solo career. His first solo album, En Pleno Vuelo, came out in 1996.
Solís has won many important awards, including five Latin Grammy Awards and two Lo Nuestro Awards. He also has a special star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2022, he was honored as the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.

Marco Antonio Solís: Early Life and Music Career
Marco Antonio Solís began singing and performing at a very young age. He started with his cousin Joel Solís in a duo called "Los Hermanitos Solís."
In the mid-1970s, he formed the popular band Los Bukis. They became very famous in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the United States. As the lead singer and main songwriter for Los Bukis, Solís also wrote and produced songs for other well-known singers like Marisela and Rocío Dúrcal.
After nearly 20 years with Los Bukis, the band members decided they wanted to form a new group without him. This led Marco Antonio Solís to start his own solo music career in 1995.
Solo Success and Collaborations
As a solo artist, Marco Antonio Solís has continued to be very popular. His music is loved in Mexico, across Latin America, in Spain, and in the United States. Many of his songs have reached the top of the Hot Latin Tracks chart.
He has worked with many other famous artists, including Olga Tañón, Ana Bárbara, Enrique Iglesias, Chayanne, and Marc Anthony. On August 5, 2010, Marco Antonio Solís received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is a huge honor.
He also appeared as a vocal coach on the TV show La Voz... México (The Voice... Mexico) and his team won the competition. His album, "Gracias Por Estar Aquí," was released in 2013 and quickly became a number one hit on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart.
In 2017, Marco Antonio Solís lent his voice to the Disney-Pixar movie Coco. He was the Spanish voice for the main character, Ernesto de la Cruz. In 2021, his song "Se Veía Venir" reached number one on the Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay chart.
