Titus Adams (born January 28, 1983) is a former professional American football player. He played as a defensive end, a position that helps stop the other team's offense. The New York Jets picked him in the 2006 NFL draft. Before that, he played college football for the University of Nebraska.
Titus Adams also played for several other NFL teams. These included the New York Giants, San Diego Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, and Cleveland Browns.

Growing Up and High School Football
Titus Adams was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a very good defensive player at Creighton Preparatory School. He was chosen as an all-state player twice. This means he was one of the best players in the entire state.
Adams helped his team reach the state championship game two years in a row. They won the state title in 1999. In 2000, they finished as the runner-up. He also played in the very first U.S. Army All-American Bowl game in December 2000. Many sports groups, like Parade magazine, named him an All-American player.
College Football Career
Adams played defensive tackle for the University of Nebraska college team. He played in 49 games for the Huskers. He started 22 of those games.
During his college career, Adams made 135 tackles. He also had 3.5 sacks, which means he tackled the opposing quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. He recovered two fumbles and intercepted two passes. Titus Adams earned a degree in business administration from the university.

The New York Jets chose Titus Adams in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL draft. However, the Jets released him from the team in September 2006. A few days later, they signed him to their practice squad. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster.
Later that year, the New York Giants signed Adams from the Jets' practice squad. He stayed with the Giants for the rest of the season. In August 2007, the Giants released him. The San Diego Chargers then picked him up, but they also released him shortly after.
In December 2007, the Cincinnati Bengals signed Adams to their practice squad. He signed a new contract with them but was released in July 2008.
Time with the Patriots and Browns
In July 2008, Titus Adams signed with the New England Patriots. He was released in August but then re-signed to their practice squad. He spent the entire 2008 season on the practice squad.
In 2009, he was again released and then re-signed to the Patriots' practice squad. On December 9, 2009, he was moved to the main team roster. He played in his first NFL game on December 13 against the Carolina Panthers. In that game, he made two tackles while playing as a nose tackle. He was released by the Patriots at the end of December.
On January 1, 2010, the Cleveland Browns picked up Titus Adams.
