Tmetolophota similis is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is endemic to New Zealand. It was described by Philpott in 1924 from specimens collected in the Gouland Downs near the Heaphy Track. In 2019 Robert J. B. Hoare undertook a major review of New Zealand noctuids. Hoare, having inspected the holotype specimen of this species, placed it within the genus Ichneutica.
