Todd Ducharme facts for kids
Todd Ducharme is a Canadian judge who has made history. In 2004, he became the very first Métis person to be appointed as a judge to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. This was a big step for Indigenous representation in Canada's legal system.
Early Life and Education
Todd Ducharme studied at several well-known universities. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University. Later, he received a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Yale University.
He then focused on law. In 1986, he completed his first law degree, a Bachelor of Law, at the University of Toronto. He continued his legal studies at Yale Law School, where he earned a Master of Laws degree in 1991. These degrees helped him prepare for his important career as a judge.
