Thomas Cullen (born on July 17, 1985) is a talented actor and director from Wales. He is known for his roles in many films and TV shows. Some of his most famous parts include playing Anthony Foyle in the popular series Downton Abbey and Sir Landry in the historical drama Knightfall. He also starred in the independent film Weekend.

Early life
Thomas Cullen was born in Aberystwyth, Wales. His parents are both writers. He spent his early childhood in Llandrindod Wells before moving to Cardiff when he was 12 years old. He went to Llanishen High School and has two brothers or sisters.
Before becoming an actor, Tom was interested in music. He later studied acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He graduated in 2009 with top honors. He also spent a year studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Career
Acting
Even while he was still training, Tom Cullen started getting acting jobs. He appeared in a film called Daddy's Girl, which won an award for Best Film in Wales. He also starred in a short film called Watch Me, which won an award for Best Short Film.
In 2011, Tom was recognized as one of the "Stars of Tomorrow" by Screen International magazine. That same year, he played the main role of Russell in the film Weekend. This film won many awards, and Tom himself won "Most Promising Newcomer" at the British Independent Film Awards and "Best Actor" at the Nashville Film Festival.
He also played Wulfric in the TV series World Without End in 2012. Many people know him from his role as Anthony Foyle, a suitor for Mary Crawley, in the hit TV show Downton Abbey.
Tom has been in several other interesting films. He was in Desert Dancer, which tells the true story of an Iranian dancer who risked his life for his passion. He also appeared in the science fiction movie The Last Days on Mars, about the first trip to Mars.
More recently, Tom played Joe Rose in the ITV drama The Trials of Jimmy Rose. He also starred as Mark in the mystery series The Five. From 2017 to 2019, he had a lead role as Landry in the History channel's series Knightfall. He also played Guy Fawkes in the BBC One series Gunpowder. In 2022, he played Thomas Seymour in the historical drama Becoming Elizabeth.
Writing
In 2008, Tom Cullen wrote and produced a short film called Naughties with a friend, Alexander Vlahos. The next year, they started their own theater company in Wales called Undeb Theatre. Tom wrote and directed a full play for the company called Kingfisher in 2010. He also wrote other short plays that Undeb Theatre performed.
Directing
Tom Cullen also directs films. His first movie as a director was Pink Wall, which came out in 2019. The film is about a couple dealing with the challenges of life and their dreams.
