Camp Agawam's Story
On the east side of Tommys Lake, there is a place called Camp Agawam. This camp has a long history!
Boy Scout Beginnings
Camp Agawam first started in 1918. It was created by the Boy Scouts of America (B.S.A.). The Clinton Valley Council of the Boy Scouts owned and ran the camp. For many years, this 140-acre camp was a summer home for countless Boy Scouts. Kids from all over Oakland County enjoyed their summers there.
New Ownership
The Boy Scouts of America's Great Lakes Council sold the camp in 2014. Orion Township bought the camp. Now, it is a property managed by the township.
