Tomohiko Ikeuchi (池内 友彦 (Ikeuchi Tomohiko, born November 1, 1977)) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender during his career.

Tomohiko Ikeuchi's Football Journey

Tomohiko Ikeuchi was born in Tobetsu, Hokkaido, Japan, on November 1, 1977. He loved football from a young age. After finishing high school, he joined a big team called Kashima Antlers in 1996. This team played in the top Japanese league, the J1 League.

Starting His Career

Even though he joined a major club, Tomohiko didn't play in any official matches for his first few years. To get more playing time, he moved to Consadole Sapporo in 1999. This team was in the J2 League, which is the second division.

Playing for Consadole Sapporo

At Consadole Sapporo, Tomohiko played as a defensive midfielder and also as a side back. He played well for two seasons. In 2000, his team, Consadole Sapporo, won the J2 League championship! This was a big achievement for them.

Returning to Kashima Antlers

In 2001, Tomohiko went back to Kashima Antlers. He started playing as a center back. His team had a great run, winning the J1 League championship in 2001. They also won the 2002 J.League Cup in 2002.

Challenges and a Second Move

However, as time went on, Tomohiko found it harder to get playing time. Younger players like Seiji Kaneko and Daiki Iwamasa started to play more. So, in 2005, he decided to move back to Consadole Sapporo, which was still in the J2 League.

Becoming a Key Player

This second time at Consadole Sapporo was very successful for Tomohiko. He became a regular player, often playing as a left back. In 2007, he helped his team win the J2 League championship again! This win meant that Consadole Sapporo was promoted to the J1 League for the 2008 season.

Retirement from Football

Tomohiko played often in the 2008 season, helping his team in the J1 League. After a long and successful career, he decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2008 season. He played a total of 163 games and scored 21 goals in his league career.
