Tomás Eduardo Rincón Hernández (born on January 13, 1988) is a professional footballer from Venezuela. He plays as a defensive midfielder for the Brazilian team Santos and is the captain of the Venezuela national team.

Tomás Rincón's Football Journey
Starting Out in Venezuela
Tomás Rincón was born in San Cristóbal, Venezuela. He began his football journey in youth teams. In 2004, when he was 16, he joined UA Maracaibo. He started playing for their B-team in the Venezuelan Segunda División during the 2006–07 season. He scored two goals there.
In January 2007, Rincón moved to Venezuelan Primera División team Zamora. He played his first top-level game on March 25, 2007. He became a regular player in the 2007–08 season. He scored his first goal for Zamora on September 30, 2007. He also played in Zamora's first international club matches in the 2007 Copa Sudamericana. Rincón left Zamora in July 2008 after playing 33 league matches. He then joined Deportivo Táchira.
Playing in Germany: Hamburger SV

In 2009, Tomás Rincón joined the German team Hamburger SV on loan. He played his first match for Hamburg on March 4, 2009, in a cup game. He made his debut in the Bundesliga, Germany's top league, on April 4, 2009.
On December 10, 2009, Hamburger SV bought him permanently from Deportivo Táchira. Rincón signed a contract to stay with the club until June 2014. He played many games for Hamburger SV during his time there.
Moving to Italy: Genoa
On July 31, 2014, Rincón joined the Italian club Genoa. He played his first official game for Genoa on August 24. He made his debut in Serie A, Italy's top league, on August 31 against Napoli. With Genoa, his team finished in 6th place. This would have qualified them for the Europa League, but they could not get a special license.
In the next season, Rincón scored his first goal for Genoa on November 22, 2015. Overall, he played 83 games and scored 3 goals for Genoa.
Joining Juventus
During the 2016–17 season, Rincón moved to Juventus, one of Italy's biggest clubs. He signed a contract on January 3, 2017. He became the first Venezuelan player to ever play for Juventus. He made his debut for Juventus on January 8, 2017. On March 14, he played his first UEFA Champions League game with the club.
Time at Torino
On August 11, 2017, Rincón was loaned to Torino for the 2017–18 season. After playing enough games, Torino bought him permanently on January 6, 2018. He continued to play for Torino for several more seasons.
Playing for Sampdoria
On January 8, 2022, Rincón joined Sampdoria on loan. He then returned to Sampdoria permanently on July 5, 2022, signing a one-year contract.
Current Club: Santos

On August 15, 2023, the Brazilian team Santos confirmed that they had signed Tomás Rincón. He made his debut for Santos five days later.
Rincón scored his first goal for Santos on October 1, 2023. He scored again seven days later in a win against rivals Palmeiras. As of July 2025, he continues to play for Santos.
Tomás Rincón's International Career
Tomás Rincón has played for Venezuela at different age levels. He played for the under-17 team in 2005 and the under-20 team in 2007. He played his first game for the senior Venezuela national team on February 3, 2008, in a friendly match against Haiti.
In 2011, Rincón was named the Best Player at the 2011 Copa América tournament. Venezuela finished in fourth place in that competition. He also played in the 2015 Copa América and the Copa América Centenario in 2016, where he was the team's captain.
Rincón scored his first goal for Venezuela on November 16, 2018, in a friendly game against Japan. He was also part of the Venezuelan team in the 2019 Copa América. On October 14, 2019, he played his 100th international game for Venezuela. He has now played over 140 games for his country.
