António Manuel Mateus Antunes (born on December 30, 1963), known as Tony Carreira, is a famous Portuguese singer. He was born in a small village called Armadouro in Pampilhosa da Serra, Portugal. When he was 10 years old, he moved to Paris with his parents and lived there for 20 years.
Tony Carreira started having hit songs in 1991. By the 2000s, he became one of the most popular and best-selling singers in Portugal. He has performed many sold-out concerts in big venues. These include the Pavilhão Atlântico in Lisbon, Portugal, and the Olympia in Paris, France.
His album O Homem Que Sou was incredibly successful. It sold so many copies that it was certified seven times platinum in Portugal. This means it sold a huge number of records! By 2009, he had sold over 700,000 records in Portugal.
In February 2014, he released an album called Nos fiançailles France/Portugal. This album featured duets with several well-known French artists. Some of these artists include Natasha St-Pier, Vincent Niclo, and Michel Sardou.
The album Sempre was also released in 2014. His album Mon Fado came out in 2016.
Tony Carreira has three children who are also involved in music and entertainment. His daughter, Sara Carreira, was a TV personality and singer who sadly passed away. His two sons, David Carreira and Mickael Carreira, are both pop singers.
