David Araújo Antunes (born on July 30, 1991), known as David Carreira, is a popular Portuguese singer, actor, and model. He became famous with his first album, N.1, released in 2011. This album quickly reached the top spot on the music charts in Portugal. His next album, A força está em nós, also did very well, reaching number 2.

From Sports to Arts
David Carreira was born in France, but his family moved back to Portugal when he was young. He loved sports and joined a junior football team called Frossos in 2001. However, he got a knee injury that stopped him from becoming a professional athlete.
After his injury, David decided to focus on a career in music and fashion. This was a natural choice because he comes from a very artistic family.

In October 2011, David released his first album, N.1. It was produced by a French team called Tefa et Blasta. The album mixed pop, dance, hip hop, and R&B music. It was a huge hit! The album stayed on the Portuguese Albums Chart for 43 weeks and reached number 1. It was so popular that it was certified double platinum. The song "Esta noite" from the album became a big hit. David then went on a large tour, ending with a concert at the Coliseu dos Recreios in February 2013.
On November 11, 2013, he released his second album, A força está em nós. This album featured collaborations with famous artists like Snoop Dogg, Anselmo Ralph, and Léa Castel. This album also did very well on the Portuguese charts.
David also started an international career, especially in France. He signed a deal with Warner France. His first French single was "Obrigado la famille," a duet with French rapper Dry. This song was produced by Wati B, a group known for working with big French hip hop artists.
This single was a preview of his French album, which came out in 2014. That album included more collaborations with artists like Tal and Tunisiano. A second single, "Boom," was released. David performed "Boom" live on a French TV show called Vivement Dimanche, which helped make it popular.
