Tony Harris, born on July 25, 1967, is an American journalist and TV host. He is well-known for being a news anchor on big channels like Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera America, and CNN.

Early Life and School
Tony Harris grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He finished high school at Franklin High School in 1985. After that, he went to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and earned a bachelor's degree.
Tony's Career
Starting in Radio
Tony Harris began his career in radio. He worked as a disc jockey in his hometown of Baltimore. He started at a station called WSID-AM. Later, he worked at other radio stations in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. When he was 21, he moved to Cleveland and hosted a morning talk show there.
Moving to Local TV
In 1983, Tony started working in television. He joined WJW-TV in Cleveland as a reporter. He spent 10 years at WJW, first as a co-host for a show called "PM Magazine," and then as a news reporter.
From 1990 to 1993, Tony was a weekend news anchor at WKYC in Cleveland. During this time, he won a local Emmy Award for his work.
In 1993, he joined the team for a new news show called Front Page on the Fox Network. After that, he returned to local news. He worked as a lead anchor in Baltimore and then in Atlanta, Georgia. In September 2004, he joined CNN.
Working at CNN
At CNN, Tony Harris was based in Atlanta. He co-anchored CNN Saturday Morning and CNN Sunday Morning. Later, he became an anchor for CNN Newsroom starting in September 2008. He also often filled in as an anchor for other weekday news shows.
While at CNN, Tony was part of the teams that won important awards. These included the George Foster Peabody Awards for their coverage of the British Petroleum oil spill and Hurricane Katrina. They also won an Alfred I. duPont Award for their reporting on the Southeast Asia tsunami. Tony left CNN at the end of 2010.
Joining Al Jazeera
In April 2011, Tony Harris started working as an anchor for Al Jazeera English. His first broadcast was on April 12, 2011.
Special Projects and Shows
Since 2015, Tony Harris has worked on special projects for the Investigation Discovery Channel. One of his first projects was a report called "Hate in America." This show looked at groups that promote hate.
In 2017, Tony joined the Discovery Channel. He hosted a six-part series called Scene of the Crime with Tony Harris. In this show, Tony explored how small towns in America dealt with serious crimes.
In 2020, Tony started hosting a podcast called Monster: DC Sniper.
In January 2021, he began hosting a show called "The Proof is Out There" on the History Channel. This series explores unexplained news stories from around the world. It covers topics like UFOs and strange creatures.
