Charles Anton "Tony" Smith (born June 14, 1968) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played as a shooting guard and point guard. Tony Smith is known for his time playing in the NBA and for his college career at Marquette University.

Tony Smith's Basketball Journey
Tony Smith started his basketball career playing for Wauwatosa East High School. After high school, he went on to play college basketball at Marquette University. He played there from 1986 to 1990.
College Success at Marquette
During his time at Marquette, Tony Smith was a fantastic scorer. In the 1989–90 season, he set a school record for the most points per game, averaging 23.8 points. This record stood for a long time until Markus Howard broke it in the 2018–19 season. Tony also worked hard in his studies, earning degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Organizational Leadership. Because of his great achievements, he was added to Marquette's Hall of Fame in September 2006.
Joining the NBA and Beyond
In 1990, Tony Smith was chosen by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1990 NBA draft. He was the 51st player picked overall. He played for six different NBA teams between 1990 and 2001. His last professional game was in 2002 with the Phoenix Eclipse in the ABA.
Life After Playing Basketball
After his playing career, Tony Smith stayed involved with basketball. In 2016, he started working as a sports analyst. He also became a studio host for Milwaukee Bucks basketball games on Fox Sports Wisconsin. In 2018, he began working as a radio commentator for Marquette University Basketball games.
