College Basketball Journey
Tony Taylor played college basketball for four years. He was part of the George Washington Colonials team at George Washington University.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Tony Taylor was not chosen in the 2012 NBA draft. However, he was picked by the Tulsa 66ers in the 2012 NBA D-League draft on November 2, 2012.
Playing in Poland
In the summer of 2013, Tony joined Turów Zgorzelec, a team in Poland. With Turów, he helped them win the Polish Championship during the 2013–14 season. This was a big achievement for him and the team.
Time in Russia and France
In August 2015, Tony signed with a Russian team called Enisey. They played in the VTB United League. With Enisey, he played in the 2016 FIBA Europe Cup Final Four tournament, where his team finished in fourth place. After the VTB United League season ended, Tony moved to France. He signed with Strasbourg IG for the rest of that season. On September 11, 2016, he returned to play for Enisey for the 2016–17 season.
Playing in Turkey and Italy
On July 4, 2017, Tony signed with a Turkish team named Banvit for the 2017–18 season. The next year, on July 18, 2018, he joined an Italian team, Virtus Bologna. He played for them in the 2018–19 LBA season and the Basketball Champions League.
On July 26, 2019, Tony signed a contract with Pınar Karşıyaka, another team in the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi. He continued to play in Turkey, signing with Türk Telekom on July 5, 2022. On July 6, 2023, he joined Bahçeşehir Koleji, also in the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi.
Current Team and Awards
On August 12, 2024, Tony Taylor signed with UNICS Kazan in the VTB United League. On October 17, 2024, he received the Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for Round 7. He earned this award by scoring 19 points and making 13 assists in a game.
