Tony Taylor's College Basketball Journey
Tony Taylor played college basketball for four seasons. He was part of the George Washington Colonials team at George Washington University. This is where he developed his skills before becoming a professional player.
Tony Taylor's Professional Basketball Career
After college, Tony Taylor hoped to join the NBA. However, he was not chosen in the 2012 NBA draft. This means no NBA team picked him directly from college.
Starting in the D-League
Even though he wasn't drafted by the NBA, Tony still got a chance to play professionally. On November 2, 2012, he was picked by the Tulsa 66ers. This team was part of the NBA D-League (now called the G League).
Playing in Poland
In the summer of 2013, Tony moved to Poland. He signed with a team called Turów Zgorzelec. With this team, he achieved a big success. They won the Polish Championship in the 2013–14 season. This was a great start to his career in Europe!
Adventures in Russia and France
In August 2015, Tony signed with a Russian team, Enisey. This team played in the VTB United League. While with Enisey, he helped them reach the 2016 FIBA Europe Cup Final Four. They finished fourth in that tournament. After the VTB United League season ended, Tony briefly played for Strasbourg IG in France. But he returned to Enisey for the next season, 2016–17.
Playing in Turkey and Italy
On July 4, 2017, Tony signed with a Turkish club named Banvit for the 2017–18 season. The next year, on July 18, 2018, he moved to Italy. He joined Virtus Bologna for their 2018–19 season. He also played in the Basketball Champions League with them.
Returning to Turkey
On July 26, 2019, Tony signed another contract in Turkey. This time, he joined Pınar Karşıyaka, a team in the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi. He played for them until 2022.
On July 5, 2022, he signed with another Turkish team, Türk Telekom. Then, on July 6, 2023, he joined Bahçeşehir Koleji, also in the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi.
Back to Russia
On August 12, 2024, Tony Taylor signed with UNICS Kazan in the VTB United League. This was a return to Russia for him. On October 17, 2024, he was named the Hoops Agents Player of the Week for his amazing performance. He scored 19 points and made 13 assists in one game!
