Toormakeady, or Tuar Mhic Éadaigh in Irish, is a special place in County Mayo, Ireland. It is known as a Gaeltacht, which means Irish is the main language spoken there. This lovely area sits between the big Lough Mask lake and the Partry Mountains. Toormakeady also refers to the main village in this region.
In 2011, about 1,007 people lived in Toormakeady. This number was a bit lower than in 1991, when 1,150 people lived there.
