Torita Blake (born 5 July 1995) is an amazing Indigenous Australian athlete. She is known for her incredible speed in sprint races. Torita has proudly represented Australia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics and the 2016 Rio Paralympics. She has also won bronze medals at the IPC Athletics World Championships, showing her talent on the world stage. Before 2016, she competed under the name Torita Isaac.

About Torita Blake
Her Early Life and Challenges
Torita Blake was born on 5 July 1995 in Moree, New South Wales. She grew up in Logan, Queensland. Torita was born with cerebral palsy, which affects her movement. She also has very limited vision, being blind in her right eye and having only 10% vision in her left. Despite these challenges, she has shown incredible strength and determination. She is a proud Indigenous woman from the Dunghutti Aboriginal people.
Inspiring Others
Torita is an ambassador for the Raise the Bar Academy. This program helps Indigenous high school students get involved in athletics. Torita loves to inspire young people. She wants to show kids, especially Indigenous children and those with disabilities, that they can achieve their dreams. She believes nothing should stop you from reaching your goals.
Torita's Athletics Journey
Torita started her athletics journey in 2011. She quickly became a specialist in sprint events. She was first classified as a T13 athlete, but later reclassified to T38. These classifications help ensure fair competition for athletes with different disabilities. She used to be a member of the Jimboomba Athletics Club.
Competing on the World Stage
Torita competed in several major events in 2012, including the Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide Track Classics. Her talent led her to the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. There, she placed seventh in both the 100m and 200m T38 races. She also helped her team finish fourth in the 4 × 100m Relay T35-38 event.
In 2013, Torita competed at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon. She finished seventh in both the Women's 100m and 200m T38 events. Her hard work paid off at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha. She proudly won a bronze medal in the Women's 400m T38 race!
Rio and Beyond
Torita aimed for another medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. She finished fourth in the 400m T38 event with a time of 1:04.47. This was a great achievement, even though she just missed the podium.
She continued to shine at the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in London, England. Torita won another bronze medal in the Women's 400m T38. She also placed seventh in the Women's 200m T38. Torita is coached by Wayne Leaver in Brisbane, who helps her train and improve.
