Torres is a small, unincorporated community located in Las Animas County, Colorado, in the United States. An unincorporated community is a place that doesn't have its own local government. Instead, it's usually managed by the county it's in.
History of Torres
The community of Torres had a post office that opened in 1894. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It stayed open until 1918. People believe that Torres got its name from a nearby mine tower. The word torres means "towers" in Spanish.
