Sarah Victoria Higginson (born December 6, 1969) is a talented Canadian actress. She is famous for her roles in popular TV shows and movies. You might know her as Elizabeth Weir from Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. She also played Jordan Hampton in NCIS and Commander Delaney Truffault in Dark Matter. Besides TV, Torri is also a skilled theatre actress.

Early Life and Training
Torri Higginson was born in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. When she decided to become an actress, she moved to London, United Kingdom. There, she studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. This school is well-known for training many successful actors.
Torri Higginson's Acting Career
Torri Higginson has had many exciting roles throughout her career. She has appeared in both movies and television series. Her work spans from science fiction to drama, showing her wide range of acting skills.
Early Roles and TekWar
In 1995, Torri starred in the movie Jungleground. Interestingly, three other actors from the Stargate series were also in this film. These included Peter Williams, JR Bourne, and Lexa Doig. One of her early well-known roles was in the TekWar movies and TV series.
Becoming Elizabeth Weir in Stargate
Torri Higginson became a big part of the Stargate universe. She took over the role of Elizabeth Weir in Stargate SG-1. This happened during the eighth season of the show. Her character, Elizabeth Weir, then became the leader of the Atlantis expedition. She continued this role on the spin-off series, Stargate Atlantis. She was a main character for the first three seasons. Later, her role became recurring in the fourth season.
Other Notable TV Appearances
After her time on Stargate, Torri Higginson continued to act in many other shows. From 2007 to 2009, she played Jordan Hampton in the crime drama NCIS. She also joined the cast of Dark Matter from 2015 to 2017. In this science fiction series, she played Commander Delaney Truffault.
In 2015, Torri was cast in the Canadian drama series This Life. She played Natalie Lawson, a single mom and writer facing a serious illness. The show ran for two seasons. In 2016, she also appeared in the web series Inhuman Condition as Dr. Kessler. More recently, Torri had a recurring role on the medical series Transplant. In February 2021, she became a regular cast member for the second season of that show.

Torri Higginson has been recognized for her acting talent. In 2000, she won a Gemini Award. This award was for Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role. She received it for her work in the TV series The City. In 2004, she was also nominated for a Saturn Award. This nomination was for Best Supporting Actress on Television.
