Toshiaki Haji (羽地 登志晃, Haji Toshiaki, born August 28, 1978) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward, which means his main job was to score goals for his team.

Toshiaki Haji's Football Journey

Toshiaki Haji was born in Sakai, Japan, on August 28, 1978. He started his professional football career in November 2000. At that time, he was a student at Tenri University.

Early Career and First Clubs

Haji joined Cerezo Osaka, a club in the top Japanese football league called J1 League. He played his first game on November 18, 2000, coming in as a substitute player. However, he only played this one match for Cerezo Osaka until 2002. In 2002, his club, Cerezo Osaka, moved down to the J2 League, which is the second division.

In September 2002, Haji moved to Sagawa Express Osaka. This club played in the Japan Football League, a lower division. He played well there, scoring 4 goals in 6 matches.

Moving Up and Finding His Place

In 2003, Haji joined Montedio Yamagata, a team in the J2 League. He played in many games for them, often coming in as a substitute forward.

The next year, 2004, he moved back to a J1 League club, JEF United Ichihara. But he didn't get to play in any matches there. Later in September 2004, he moved to another J1 League team, Kashiwa Reysol, where he played in several games.

Success with Tokushima Vortis

In 2005, Toshiaki Haji joined Tokushima Vortis. This club had just been promoted to the J2 League. He became a very important player for them, playing regularly as a forward and scoring many goals.

In July 2007, he moved to Ventforet Kofu, a J1 League club. However, he didn't play as much there. The club was then moved down to the J2 League in 2008. In 2008, he played more games for Ventforet Kofu, often as a substitute.

Return and Retirement

In 2009, Haji returned to Tokushima Vortis. He had a great year, playing in all 51 matches and scoring 12 goals. However, in 2010, he didn't play as much. Toshiaki Haji decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2010 season.
