A Star is Born: Early Music Career
Towa Carson became very popular in the 1950s and 1960s. She had many hit songs during this time. One of her biggest hits was "Jag måste ge mig av." It reached number 3 on the music charts.
She also had success with songs like "De tre klockorna" and "Spara sista dansen för mig." Both of these songs reached number 4. Towa often sang duets with another popular singer, Lasse Lönndahl. Their song "Visa mig hur man går hem" was also a hit.

Towa Carson had many songs that were popular on the Swedish charts. In fact, 25 of her songs made it onto a chart called Svensktoppen. This shows how much people loved her music. A Special Trio: Hanson, Carson & Malmkvist
In 2004, when Towa was 68 years old, she returned to Melodifestivalen. She teamed up with two other well-known singers. They were Siw Malmkvist and Ann-Louise Hanson. Their group was called Hanson, Carson & Malmkvist.
The trio got a lot of attention because they were all over 60. Their song was "C'est la vie." It was a fun mix of traditional schlager music and dance beats. People loved them! They made it to the final round of the contest. They finished in tenth place with an exciting performance. They also appeared at a popular summer music show called Allsång på Skansen.
Life Outside Music
Towa Carson celebrated her 70th birthday in 2006. She is married to Bengt Anlert. He used to be a soccer player for a team called AIK.
Her unique stage name, Towa, has a sweet story behind it. When she was a little girl, her father called her "Min lilla Tova." This means "My little tangle" in Swedish. He said this because her hair was often tangled. That nickname stuck with her and became her stage name.
