Trương Mỹ Hoa was born on May 8, 1945. She is a well-known Vietnamese politician from Tiền Giang Province. She became a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1963.
Trương Mỹ Hoa served as the Vice President of Vietnam from 2002 to 2007. Before this important role, she held many different positions in the government and the Communist Party in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. She was also active during a challenging period in Vietnam's history.

Starting in Ho Chi Minh City
Trương Mỹ Hoa began her political career at a local level. From 1986 to 1991, she was the party secretary and chairman of the People's Committee for Tân Bình district in Ho Chi Minh City.
This meant she was a key leader in that area. She helped manage local government and the Communist Party's activities there.
National Roles and Vice Presidency
Moving to National Politics
After her work in Ho Chi Minh City, Trương Mỹ Hoa moved on to bigger roles at the national level. She became a member of the executive board of the Central Party Committee. This is a very important group that helps lead the Communist Party.
