Travis Williams was born in Columbia, South Carolina, on May 27, 1969. He grew up loving basketball and played for Richland Northeast High School in his hometown. After high school, he continued his basketball journey at South Carolina State University. He played for the South Carolina State Bulldogs from 1988 to 1991, where he developed his skills as a strong player.
