Tre Mission's Early Life and Music Journey
Tre Mission was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His family comes from Trinidad and Jamaica. He discovered grime and dubstep music online. These music styles inspired him to start making his own grime songs in 2010. People in the United Kingdom quickly noticed his unique sound.
Visiting London and First EP
In 2011, Tre Mission traveled to London. There, he began working with famous grime artists. These included Wiley, JME, and Skepta. He released his first collection of songs, called an EP, titled The Practice Mission that same year.
Albums and Awards
Tre Mission released a mixtape called Malmaison in 2013. A mixtape is like an album, but often released independently. He then released his album Stigmata in 2014. This album featured many guest artists. Some of these were Wiley, JME, Skepta, and Merky Ace. Stigmata was nominated for a Juno Award. It was recognized for Rap Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2015. The Juno Awards are like the Grammy Awards for Canadian music.
