Tresviso is a small village and a type of local government area called a municipality. It is located in Cantabria, a region in northern Spain. This village sits high up in the mountains, about 907 meters (2,976 feet) above sea level.
Tresviso is found within the amazing Picos de Europa mountain range. These mountains are part of the larger Cantabrian Mountains. The village itself is built on a mountain ledge. This ledge is about 800 meters (2,625 feet) above the Deva River valley below.

How to Get to Tresviso
Getting to Tresviso is an adventure! Even though it's in Cantabria, the main road to the village comes from a different region.
Road Access from Asturias
The only road that reaches Tresviso is a narrow one. It crosses a high mountain pass, about 1,320 meters (4,331 feet) high. This road starts from a village called Sotres in the nearby region of Asturias.
Hiking from Cantabria
If you prefer to hike, there's a challenging trail from the Cantabrian side. This hike starts from the N621 highway, which runs along the Deva River. The trail takes about three hours and has many winding turns, called switchbacks. It's a tough but rewarding walk!
Who Leads Tresviso?
The leader of Tresviso is called an Alcalde. This is like a mayor in other countries. The current Alcalde of Tresviso is Francisco Javier Campo Campo. He helps manage the village and its people.
Population of Tresviso
Tresviso is a very small community. In 2018, only 64 people lived there. This makes it one of the least populated municipalities in Spain.
