Trevor Stewart was born on May 20, 1997. He is an American athlete who competes in track and field. Trevor is an Olympic champion. He won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the men's 4x400 metres relay race. He also earned a bronze medal in the mixed 4x400 metres relay at the same Olympics.

Early Life and College Career

Trevor grew up in Lorton, Virginia. He went to South County High School there. After high school, Trevor attended North Carolina A&T State University. His coach at the university was Duane Ross.

In 2019, Trevor competed in the NCAA 400-meter race in Austin, Texas. He finished second in this important college race. He ran his fastest time ever, 44.25 seconds. This was one of the fastest 400-meter times in the world that year.

In 2021, Trevor raced again at the NCAA 400-meter event. This race was held at the University of Oregon in Eugene. He finished fourth with a time of 44.96 seconds.

Road to the Olympics

In June 2021, Trevor took part in the US Olympic Trials. These trials decide which athletes will go to the Olympics. He ran very fast in the 400-meter heats, with a time of 44.75 seconds. He then qualified for the final race.

In the final, Trevor finished fourth. This result allowed him to join the relay team for the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo. He ran in the final of the Mixed 4x400 metres relay. His team won a bronze medal in this event.

Personal Life

Trevor Stewart has had asthma since he was a child.
