Tristan John Gemmill (born 6 June 1967) is a British actor. He is famous for playing Dr. Adam Trueman in the TV show Casualty. He also played Robert Preston in Coronation Street.
Tristan went to Holmewood House School until he was 13. He then earned a special scholarship to attend Tonbridge School.

Tristan Gemmill grew up in Cowden, Kent. He is married to actress Emily Hamilton. They have three children together. Their son, Wilfred, was born in 2008. They also have two daughters, Mabel (born 2010) and Violet (born 2012).
When he was 15, Tristan moved to Australia with his family. There, he studied acting. In 1991, he had his first acting role. He played a male nurse in an Australian soap opera called Chances. He appeared again in the same show as a flower delivery man. The next year, he came back to Britain to start his acting career here.
