Troutman is growing very quickly, with many new homes being built. Because of this growth, the population is expected to increase to more than 11,000 residents in the future! The Story of Troutman
Troutman was first settled in 1859. It became an official town in 1905. A special building called the Davidson House is part of the town's history. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. This means it's an important historical place.
Where is Troutman Located?
Troutman is in the southern part of Iredell County. A main road, U.S. Route 21, goes right through the middle of town. If you go north on this road for about 6 miles, you'll reach Statesville. Statesville is the main city of Iredell County. If you go south for about 10 miles, you'll find Mooresville.
Interstate 77, a big highway, is about 3 miles east of Troutman. You can get to it from Exit 42. The town covers an area of about 6.56 square miles (17.00 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a very small part being water.
