Troy Sidney Brown (born April 3, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player. He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts. Troy Brown played basketball in college and then professionally.

Early Life and College Basketball
Troy Brown grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts. He went to two different high schools. First, he attended Governor Dummer Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts. Later, he went to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
After high school, Troy Brown played college basketball for Providence College. He was a player for the Providence Friars team from 1990 to 1995. He played as a small forward.
College Performance
During his final year at Providence College, in the 1994–95 season, Troy Brown played very well. He scored an average of 12 points in each game. He also grabbed about 7.9 rebounds per game. A rebound is when a player gets the ball after a shot is missed. He was also very accurate with his shots, making 52 percent of them.
Professional Basketball Career
After his successful college career, Troy Brown hoped to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The NBA is the top professional basketball league in the world.
NBA Draft
In the 1995 NBA draft, Troy Brown was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks. He was the 45th player picked overall in the draft. This happened in the second round of the draft. However, even though he was drafted, Troy Brown did not play any games for the Atlanta Hawks. He also did not play in any NBA games.
Playing in Other Leagues
Instead of the NBA, Troy Brown played in another league called the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). The CBA was a professional basketball league in the United States. He first played for a team called the Grand Rapids Mackers. Later, he was traded to another CBA team, the Connecticut Pride.
