Troy Randall Brown Jr. (born July 28, 1999) is an American professional basketball player. He last played for Manisa Basket in Turkey. Before becoming a pro, Troy was a top high school player. He was even named a McDonald's All-American in 2017. He played college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. The Washington Wizards picked him as the 15th player in the 2018 NBA draft.

Troy Brown Jr. was born on July 28, 1999. His parents were also college athletes. His mom ran track, and his dad played basketball. They both went to Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Troy's sister, Jada, also played college basketball at the University of Kansas.
Becoming a Top Recruit
Troy was one of the best high school basketball players in 2017. Experts from Scout.com, Rivals.com, and ESPN all agreed. On November 7, 2016, he decided to play college basketball for the Oregon Ducks. He was a highly anticipated player for their team.

College Basketball Career
Troy started his college career strong on November 10, 2017. He scored 18 points in his first game for the Oregon Ducks. A few days later, he had 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.
He achieved his first "double-double" (scoring double digits in two different stats) on December 8. He had 12 points and 10 rebounds in a game. Later, he almost got a "triple-double" (double digits in three stats) with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists.
Troy scored a season-high 21 points on New Year's Eve. He matched this score again in February 2018. After just one successful season, Troy decided to enter the 2018 NBA draft. This meant he would try to become a professional player.
During his time at Oregon, Troy averaged 11.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. He was the team's best rebounder. He also shot well, making 44.4% of his shots.
Professional Basketball Journey
Playing for the Washington Wizards (2018–2021)
On June 21, 2018, the Washington Wizards picked Troy Brown Jr. in the NBA draft. He was the 15th player chosen overall. He signed his first professional contract on July 5.
Troy made his NBA debut on October 24, scoring four points. On March 31, 2019, he had his best game of the season. He scored 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
On December 23, 2019, Troy set a new career high. He scored 26 points, with nine rebounds and seven assists. A few weeks later, on January 4, 2020, he grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds in a game.
Time with the Chicago Bulls (2021–2022)
On March 25, 2021, Troy was traded to the Chicago Bulls. This trade involved three different teams.
While with the Bulls, Troy showed his defensive skills. On January 11, 2022, he had a career-high six steals. He also added seven points, seven rebounds, and five assists in that game. On April 10, he scored a season-high 17 points and had 11 rebounds.
Joining the Los Angeles Lakers (2022–2023)
Troy signed with the famous Los Angeles Lakers on July 1, 2022.
Playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves (2023–2024)
On July 9, 2023, Troy signed a contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Short Time with the Detroit Pistons (2024)
Troy was traded to the Detroit Pistons on February 7, 2024. He was traded along with another player and a future draft pick. He was later released by the Pistons on June 29.
Playing Overseas with Manisa Basket (2024)
On October 11, 2024, Troy decided to play basketball in Turkey. He signed with Manisa Basket, a team in the Basketbol Süper Ligi. This league is also part of the Basketball Champions League.
