Truckers is a fun British stop-motion animated show that first aired in 1992. It's based on the first book of the famous author Terry Pratchett's The Nome Trilogy. The show was made by Cosgrove Hall and Thames Television. It had 13 episodes, each about ten minutes long. Later, all the episodes were put together to make a full-length movie, which was released on VHS.
The Story of the Nomes
The show follows a tiny creature named Masklin, who is a Nome. Nomes are like very small humans. Masklin and his friends live by a busy motorway, but their home isn't safe anymore. They need to find a new place to live.
One day, they discover a huge department store where many other Nomes live. These "Store Nomes" have a very strong belief: they think the entire store is the whole universe, and they don't believe anything exists "outside." This makes things tricky for Masklin, who knows there's a big world beyond the store walls.
Masklin finds a mysterious object called 'The Thing'. It turns out 'The Thing' is actually a smart computer from the Nomes' original spaceship! It tells Masklin that Nomes are actually aliens who crashed on Earth thousands of years ago. With 'The Thing's' help, Masklin plans a daring escape to save all the Store Nomes before their home is torn down. It's a race against time, full of courage and clever plans!
