Brian Trueman (born 16 May 1932 – died August/September 2024) was a talented English writer and voice actor. He was also a broadcaster. Brian was best known for his work with Cosgrove Hall Films, an animation studio. He helped create and narrate many popular children's cartoon series. Most of these shows were made in the 1970s and 1980s.

Brian Trueman's Early Life
Brian Trueman was born in Manchester, England, on 16 May 1932. He went to Stretford Grammar School. After that, he studied for one year at the University of Manchester.
Brian Trueman's Amazing Career
Brian Trueman's cartoons were first shown on ITV. They were part of its CITV children's programming. He also hosted a children's film quiz show for the BBC called Screen Test. He took over from the original host, Michael Rodd, and presented the show from 1979 to 1983.
Before he became a writer, Brian worked for many years in local TV. He worked in the North West region of England. He hosted shows like It's Trueman and Granada Reports. He also hosted a film review show called Cinema for Granada Television. He took over this role from Michael Parkinson.
In 1951, when he was younger, Brian performed on stage. He was part of the Urmston Amateur Operatic Society. This group is now called the Urmston Musical Theatre. He played the character Big Ben in a show called Merrie England.
