Truesdale Lake is a beautiful lake found in South Salem. This area is part of Lewisboro in northern Westchester County, New York. It's a great spot for outdoor activities.

The lake covers about 83.3-acre (337,000 m2) of land. It stretches for almost 1 mile (1.6 km) long. At its widest point, it is about 38 mile (0.60 km) across. Water flows into the lake mainly from a swamp in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

How Truesdale Lake Was Formed

Truesdale Lake was not always here. It was created in 1927. People built a dam across a stream. This caused Hoyt's pond and the surrounding swamp to fill with water. That's how the lake we see today came to be.

Managing the Lake and Its Beaches

Two special groups help take care of Truesdale Lake. They are called homeowners' associations.

  • The first group is the Truesdale Lake Property Owners' Association (TLPOA).
  • The second group is the Truesdale Estates Association (TEA).

These groups work to keep the lake clean and safe. They also manage two beaches. These beaches are for members of the associations to enjoy. They help make sure everyone can have fun by the water.
