Tuas Link MRT station (EW33) is an above-ground train station in Tuas, Singapore. It is part of Singapore's MRT system. This station is on the East West Line.
Tuas Link is special because it is the very last station at the western end of the East West Line. It is also the westernmost MRT station in the entire Singapore train network. This station is unique because its train platforms are on a lower level than the ticket machines and control room.
You can walk from Tuas Link station to places like Raffles Marina and the Tuas Checkpoint. The Tuas Checkpoint is a border crossing to Malaysia. However, you cannot walk into the checkpoint from the station. It is only for vehicles like cars and buses.

Station History
Building the Tuas West Extension
The plan for Tuas Link MRT station was first shared on January 11, 2011. This was part of a bigger project called the Tuas West Extension. The Transport Minister, Raymond Lim, announced this new train line.
The building work for the Tuas West Extension officially began on May 4, 2012. Another Transport Minister, Lui Tuck Yew, was there for the groundbreaking ceremony. This extension was built to help over 100,000 people travel every day.
Opening Day and Changes
The station was supposed to open in 2016. However, its opening was delayed until the middle of 2017. This delay was needed to install a new train signalling system. This system helps trains run safely and smoothly.
Tuas Link station and the rest of the Tuas West Extension started operating on June 18, 2017. This was an exciting day for many commuters!
Temporary Service Changes
After the station opened, there was a train incident at Joo Koon station. Because of this, trains between Gul Circle and Tuas Link stations were temporarily closed. This happened from November 16 to 19, 2017.
Train services from Gul Circle to Tuas Link started again on November 20, 2017. However, services between Joo Koon and Gul Circle stayed closed for a longer time. This was to allow for important maintenance work on the signalling equipment.
