Tukums is a town located in Latvia. It officially became a town in 1795, which means it gained special rights at that time. In 2019, a big part of Latvia's old tires were recycled in Tukums. The town has the second largest tire recycling factory in the Baltic countries.
In 2020, the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, praised the leaders in Tukums. He thanked them for their good work during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also noted their efforts in offering helpful advice and support to the people living there.
