History of Turley
Turley was once known by a different name: Flat Rock. The community started to form around the year 1897. A few years later, in 1902, the first school was built there.
Early Businesses in Turley
The community's post office was located inside a store owned by Jim Turley and S.L. Daun. This store, along with a blacksmith shop, made up the very first part of Turley. This original area was found northeast of 66th Street North and Peoria Avenue.
