Twin Falls is a beautiful waterfall located inside Silver Falls State Park. This park is near the city of Salem in Oregon, a state in the United States. Twin Falls is found in the western foothills. Here, the Mount Hood National Forest meets the Middle Santiam Wilderness. Silver Falls State Park is famous for its many waterfalls. Other cool waterfalls in the park include South Falls, Drake Falls, Lower South Falls, and Winter Falls. You can see them all along the special Trail of Ten Falls.
Where to Find Twin Falls
Twin Falls is formed by the North Fork of Silver Creek. It's located on the eastern side of the park's famous Trail of Ten Falls. You can find it along the Canyon Trail. It's about a quarter mile from Middle North Falls. The waterfall got its name because it often splits into two separate streams. This happens especially during the spring when there's lots of water.
What Makes Twin Falls Special?
Twin Falls is one of the smaller waterfalls on the Trail of Ten Falls. It's about 31 feet (9 m) tall. You can't see the whole waterfall from the main viewing spot on Canyon Trail. The water flows over a slanted rock ledge made of basalt. This creates two curtain-like streams of water. During the summer, one of these streams might get much smaller. Sometimes it almost disappears because it flows so close to the cliff.
